There is a unique kind of magic that happens when preparation meets opportunity.
At the Cruise Retail Academy, we live for the moments when our graduates transition from the classroom to the vibrant, high-energy world of international cruise retail. Today, we are bursting with pride to celebrate the success of our latest standout graduate, Elwyne!

Elwyne recently reached out to us from his new home at sea with a message that reminded us exactly why we do what we do:
"Hi Guys I have settled in well... I just want to quickly update and tell you that I am grateful. It’s an amazing journey I am looking forward to learning and growing. The lessons from Cruise Retail Academy prove to be vital on the ground."
A Foundation of Excellence
Before joining the academy, Elwyne already possessed a formidable background in hospitality and tourism, however, he knew that the world of luxury cruise retail required a specialized "edge." From the very start, Elwyne's professionalism was outstanding - taking a 4-hour bus ride to participate in his interview with us to ensure that he had good enough wifi to present a professional first impression. Presenting a business-ready attire and showcasing his commitment, Elwyne made impact which told us he would be a great asset to any cruise retailer. This attention to detail and level of preparation is really a simple way to show us the level of dedication and commitment that Elwyne was willing to show to grow himself in cruise retail. And being a member of the Academy, our job is then the support Elwyne on is journey onboard for free.
During his time with us, Elwyne didn’t just participate; he excelled. He completed an extensive curriculum, earning nearly all our badges and certifications such as a Jewellery Specialist, Watch Specialist, and Fragrance Specialist. These aren't just titles—they are the tools he is now using to deliver world-class service to international guests onboard.

Elwyne has now officially embarked on his career onboard. Operating within the fast-paced environment of a luxury cruise ship, he is responsible for:
Showcasing the amazing product ranges to a global audience.
Driving revenue through the consultative selling techniques he mastered at the Academy.
Creating memorable guest experiences that turn a simple purchase into a lifelong memory.
