In this program, we give you 10 great tips to help you prepare to embark successfully for the first time onboard!
This course is designed for first time crew members as part of our TOP 10 series, with useful hints and tips to help you illuminate your retail world!
CRUISE SHIP JARGON
This quick course is designed to help people who are new to the cruise industry understand a number of the most useful jargon for going onboard cruise ships and how to become an expert before you even embark!
MENTAL WELLBEING
Learning About Mental Wellbeing At Sea is a peer-led guide designed to help you navigate the unique challenges of living and working at sea.
This course moves beyond the shop floor to ensure you return to shore not just with a wealth of experience, but with your mental wellbeing and long-term career goals firmly on an even keel.

CRUISE RETAIL DIPLOMA
If you have your first interview in the next week or you would rather do the express version of our 4-week training program in 1-go, then I recommend you to join the Cruise Retail Diploma - Level 1. This program will take you through 6 core modules and give you a good basic understanding of what you need to know to be successful working in cruise retail.
INTERVIEWING TIPS
If you have an interview organized in the next days, then here is our top tips to help you ensure you are fully prepared:
1) Please make sure you have somewhere suitable for the call, that is quiet and free from any interruptions.
Check: Do you have a clear, neutral background and good lighting that is flattering. Check before the call! Try not to sit in front of a window for example, as this will show you in silhouette. Maybe record yourself for a short while and then watch it back to be absolutely sure.
2) Make sure you have a good stable wifi / phone connection. If you are worried about the wifi, make sure your interviewer knows right at the start of your call, so they are prepared if the signal drops off for a moment.
3) Make sure you are dressed professionally in business attire for your interview, first impressions count! Make sure your grooming is well done - hair, makeup etc.
4) Make sure your camera is switched on and that your audio is ok (if you are using headphones, check that the microphone works ok before hand. Maybe do a test call with friends or family to be 100% certain. If you are using a mobile phone for the interview, make sure you place it standing up on a surfece (maybe get a mobile phone holder) and try not to hold on to it, as this can be it less professional.
5) Be on time. We would recommend being online between 3-5 minutes before your interview scheduled start time. If you are going to be late for any reason, be sure to let the interviewer know as far in advance as possible.
6) Be yourself, be natural, remember to breathe and listen carefully!
